Excellent meeting We had an excellent WDM meeting in Cheltenham on 21st Feb. The speakers were interesting and a good point for us all to take away was made. Many promises have been made by politicians—now we have to make sure that their deeds match up to their words. Keep up the pressure. |

15th March Justice for Nigeria There is great concern over the terms by which Nigeria has received some debt relief. Please look at the Jubilee Debt site and send a letter to Gordon Brown urging hi to review the terms of the relief. There is also a protest rally to be held on Wed. 22nd March at 11.0 in Whitehall, London if you could go along. |

1st April Some debt actually cancelled The World Bank has announced that it has cancelled - cancelled, not promised! - $37 billion owed by poorer countries. For full details look up Jubilee Debt Campaign site. |

1st April - Great news from Zambia As a result of debt relief the Zambian government has announced a new budget including provision for 1500 new teachers, a school building programme, new health care staff and an expanded HIV/AIDS programme. It shows what can and should happen. |
