Sainsbury’s to stock only Fair-trade bananas. It’s good news that Sainsbury’s is following the example of Waitrose and planning to stock only bananas sourced from fair-trade producers. This is really good news for the growers in the West Indies who would otherwise find their livelihoods threatened by the huge plantations in other countries. March 21 |

Our symbol is now recognised by 57% Ii is reported that now 57% of people in this country now recognise our fairtrade logo and what it means. This is a small growth but there is a significant increase in the 25-34 age groups who now are as likely to support as the 45-54 group. It is a measure of the steady growth of fairtrade and the message it continues to send out to the business world that people are not only concerned out price but about ethical production methods. If you like one look at the website - www.pachacuti.co.uk. It would make you stand out in the summer crowds! June 5th |
