30th November  Diocese of Gloucester becomes a Fair-trade diocese.

Another great bit of news.  A few weeks ago the Bishop was able to announce that the diocese had achieved all the standards that were needed and the diocese has joined the growing list of dioceses that have made this important statement about our world.  Churches have always been in the forefront of this and other moves to make the world a better and fairer place.  Congratulations to all who made this possible here.

9th May  Local producer of fair-trade ice cream

With summer approaching don’t forget Cotswold Ice Cream which is wholly fair-trade, and also organic.  It is produced locally at Farmington and there are 3 flavours.

16th Sept Tekesbury makes it to Fairtrade town status.

Congratulations to Tewkesbury which has become the latest town in Gloucestershire to achieve fairtrade status. As always this has been the result of a lot of hard slogging by the local committee so well done them. We also hear that Bourton-on-the-Water is going strongly towards this.  The game goes on with  ore and more places winning.

30th Oct. Newnham and Tewkesbury become fair-trade

Fantastic advance for Gloucestershire.  Recently both Newnham and Tewkesbury have celebrated fair-trade status.  Tewkesbury made their special day when Nigel Quarrell was there on his trip round the county.  Well done to everyone who helped in these landmark achievements.

21st May  Could you do Traidcraft in Tekwesbury?

Wendy Treble will have to give up coordinating Traidcraft in Tewkesbury and so someone else could take it over.  Contact her on 01684 292545 to see if you can take it on.

29th July Yet another fairtrade café

I came across a note in the Gloucestershire Echo the other day.  It focused on yet another fairtrade café - Slurp in St. George’s Road Cheltenham.  They serve all sorts of coffees so it sounds fun.  However the main point is that it is yet another place where we can enjoy fairtrade coffee without looking too hard.  Don’t let them tell you fairtrade is les than the best - and it’s the most fun too.

2nd Nov. Lydney joins the fair-trade push

Lydney has taken the first steps towards joining the fair-trade towns in the county.  All the best as they press on towards this goal.  They would be the 9th - who will be 10th?

18th April  Bouton-on-the-Water goes fairtrade

Another feather in the Glos fairtrade cap as Bourton-on-the-Water is awarded Fairtrade village status.  Congratulations to Diana Ray and her committee on their success.

1st May  Bishops Cleeve sets out on fairtrade path
