Fairtrade Fortnight 2008 Feb. 25th to March 9th 2008 |
These are a few of the events that are happening in Gloucestershire during Fairtrade Fortnight. Let’s hope it is a very successful time- let me know of other events

University of Gloucestershire is planning a two-day exhibition over Thursday 28th - Friday 29th Feb. and it will be free entrance. The event takes place at Elwes Reception on the Park Campus, Cheltenham. There will also be a showing of the excellent film, ‘Black Gold’. Painswick makes it to Fair-trade town status Friday 7th March sees Painswick gain the certificate as a Fair-trade town. Starting with a Coffee Morning at Croft Scholl from 10.30 the certificate will be presented by David Drew MP at 11.15. Congratulations to everyone who has worked so hard to reach this point. Cirencester College Is holding an event on Fair-trade and related subjects on Wed. 27th Feb. There will be stalls and seminars all day. Special promotions at all the big shops - and many others It’s been great to see all the special offers and promotions at all the big shops - it just shows how much they have taken on board what fairtrade stands for. Other firms also supporting wherever possible What is even more encouraging is to see all the other little efforts being made to promote fairtrade products. I have just been handed a flyer from Commercial, a large stationery supplier based in Cheltenham and they have a number of lines they are offering to push this fortnight. Winchcombe Now that they are a Fairtrade Town Winchcombe if making sure that no effort is spared to maintain the progress. There is even an fairtrade ice cream on offer which will be even more popular in the summer. |
